Our shoulders give us the power to lift, hold, pull and complete everyday essential tasks. When our shoulders are overworked or are subject to unanticipated injuries, our shoulders can limit the tasks we can do and result in unnecessary pain. Shoulder pain typically arises from the shoulder joint itself and the pain becomes more severe when we attempt to do activities or move our arms or shoulders.
Shoulder pain is generally caused by work related injuries, sports, frozen shoulder, Bursitis, Arthritis, or overuse. Work related shoulder injuries can occur outside of labor-intensive industries and can be the result of constant overuse. Bursitis is inflammation in the small fluid-filled sacs of Bursae located in our joints and can make daily tasks such as getting dressed difficult over time.
At De Graaf Chiropractic Clinics we treat shoulder pain with a variety of treatments based on the type and severity of the injury. Some of our treatments include Intersegmental Traction, Trigger Point Therapy, Electro Therapy and a balanced combination of heat and ice.
